Work less - archieve more

“Berater, Banker, Wirtschaftsprüfer, Manager - sie alle haben das Gefühl, immer im Dienst zu sein.” (my translation: “Consultants, bankers, accountants and managers - they all have the feeling of beeing always on duty.”) This is what the Harvard-Business-Manager-Magazin is writing in its online issue. A little bit one wishes they would care of what is written in the title: If the named persons actually would work less or at least would archieve more it most probably would have positive effects on the world economy.
Why in my feed reader the news have been different than in the text above maybe could be explained by technical problems: “Banker, Wirtschaftsprüfer, Manager - viele Top-Arbeitskräfte haben das Gefühl, immer im Dienst sein zu müssen.” (my translation: “Bankers, accountants and managers - many top workers have the feeling of beeing always on duty.”) Or was this a try to rehabilitate those who can’t be rehabilitated? In this case they have realized very quickly how impertinent and ridiculous this attempt must have sounded. Why they included the consultants in the newer version is not clear either. Maybe it is an effort to let a bad package look less poisenous by adding some possibly better content - this has worked at least with many financial products within the last years. But it would not be a nice step to clean up all traces afterwards and leave no hint to the original version in the new text. So I consider that my feedreader has to be blamed. After all I did not even subscribed to the Harvard Business Manager feed and somehow got it from the SPON feed I subscribed to.
